CTLAB attended the unveiling ceremony of new BUT student formula – DRAGON E2
BUT student team TU Brno Racing, which for several years has been sponsored by our laboratory, introduced a new model of student formula. In collaboration with the team, we are involved in the development of automotive parts through non-destructive testing by computed tomography. In past years, for example, we have tested the quality of glued joints as part of the development of composite axle arms, the geometry of shock absorber heads for their subsequent optimization. We also tested the quality of carbon wheel production, and this year, we checked the bubbles in the disk between the carbon layers.
On Friday, 27th May 2022, a new model of an electric student formula bearing the name Dragon E2 was unveiled. As every year, the student team will take part in the global Formula Student competition with this monopost, where they placed 36th in the world and won from the Czech university teams in the last season between electric formulas. This year's model is purely electric and fully capable of autonomous driving, but it will not race in this category later this year. In addition to the monopost, the students also built a new simulator.
